Job Title             : Commissioning Mechanical Lead Technician

Responsible to   : Mechanical Commissioning Engineer

Location             : Oman

Start Date          : Q2 2016

 

Main purpose of the Job:

  • Responsible for the management and supervision of mechanical commissioning technicians.

  • Carry out pre commissioning and commissioning of mechanical and process equipment

Principal Accountabilities

  • Comply with and ensure that his team meet Clients expectations on HSE, TBT’s

  • Undertake Performing Authority duties in accordance with PTW procedure

  • Attend site RTC meetings and participate in level 2 risk assessments

  • Ensure all mechanical technicians under their supervision fully understand their duties and the risks associated with them.

  • Report progress/status of pre commissioning and commissioning activities in verbal and written reports.

  • Communicate with technicians to identify any HSE issues raised by TBT

  • Assist with compilation of Livening up Notices (LUNS)

  • Responsible for the safety & management of all Instrument commissioning personnel and vendors reps under their control when on-site

  • Cary out mechanical completion line walks of mechanical and process equipment and compile punch lists in accordance with project specifications.

  • Inspect mechanical and process equipment in line with project specifications and complete the associated ITR paperwork.

  • Complete pre commissioning activities for mechanical and process equipment/systems.

  • As building mechanical and process documents in accordance with project procedure.

Experience:

  • Should have a proven track record as a Mechanical Commissioning Senior Technician with relevant discipline experience. Onshore or Offshore

  • Supervising a commissioning multinational team of Mechanical technicians

  • Preparation of Permit to work and Performing Authority responsibilities.

  • Experience in the use of Rotalign machinery alignment equipment (desirable)

 

Qualifications:

  • A recognised mechanical/process qualification from their native country

 

Basic Skills:

  • Competent in communicating in English language (written and spoken)

  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings in English.
